North Palm Beach Heritage Festival - April 4, 2011
Four volunteers from the Village of North Palm Beach hosted an information booth and distributed Stormwater And Me program outreach materials at the festival, attended by approximately 3,000 people. During the event, the following outreach materials were given out:
- 273 Illicit Discharge/Illegal Dumping brochures
- 270 Pesticide, Herbicide, & Fertilizer Reduction brochures
- 200 folding totes with illicit discharge message
- 160 notepads with illicit discharge message
- 200 pens with pullout information sheet
- 75 K’POW stickers
- 120 water bottles with illicit discharge message

Debris can be harmful to wildlife
Nutrients (from leaves, grass, fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides) can lead to fish kills and excessive amounts of algae in the water
Bacteria (from pet waste and dead animals) can produce health concerns
Sediment can reduce the system's ability to handle potential flooding and adversely affect aquatic organizms
Chemicals, oils, and paints can be toxic to plants and animals
